Today I just wish to share with you something that has been in my heart for quite some years: I want to become a pastor.
“Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth” (2 Timothy 2:15; KJV).
Paul’s charge to Timothy is to embrace the Word as something to be studied, to be correctly interpreted and presented. But in order to do this, proper preparation is mandatory.
While it is true that preparation at a seminary is not mandatory in order to be involved in pastoral service, some may choose to do so, and I believe God has put it in my heart to prepare myself thoroughly, in order to have the privilege the expound the Word of the Living, Sovereign God correctly.
I am particularly interested in The Master’s Seminary, founded by Pastor John MacArthur, shepherd and leader of Grace Community Church. I confide in the veracity and faithfulness of this Seminary to the Truth of the Word of God not because of their founder and leaders, but because of the way God has used them throughout their years of existence and service.
So I humbly ask you to include me in your daily prayers, that the Lord may open the doors, and that I also may seek them, not just stand with my arms folded. Please, pray the Lord may guide me and take me. If He wants me to go, then nothing will hinder His will: neither money nor distance.
