We’re going to make a pause for today on “The Frankenstein Monster Project” series to pray for the persecuted church. This is an update I receive in my email from The Voice of the Martyrs ministries. I think that the Church should spend more time praying for those that literally die for the one true religion and faith. While we are in the belly of the beast here in the United States, let us not forget or become calloused to the brethren that are sacrificed every day.
Prayer is the pulse of life; by it the doctor can tell what is the condition of the heart. The sin of prayerlessness is a proof for the ordinary Christian or minister that the life of God in the soul is in deadly sickness and weakness.” – Andrew Murray
“Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, being watchful to this end with all perseverance and supplication for all the saints” – Ephesians 6:18

IRAN — Christian Released from Prison — Farsi Christian News Network
Praise God! On July 25, Ali Golchin was released from Evin Prison after paying bail of 200 million Rials (about $21,700 U.S.), according to Farsi Christian News Network (FCNN). Golchin, 29, was arrested at his home in the city of Varamin on April 29. At the time of his arrest and while he was in prison, government agents searched his home and confiscated a Bible and other books, a computer, his identification documents and other personal belongings, according to FCNN. Golchin was held in the notorious Section 209 of Evin Prison, where it is believed he was tortured by authorities. “Throughout this time, he was able to meet with his family only once for 10 minutes,” FCNN reported. “Ali Golchin said that during his detention he faced long and harsh interrogation, and his family reported that Ali has described his time in prison as ‘unbearable.’” The courts have not explained why Golchin was held for more than 87 days, and he has not been formally charged with a crime. “This disproportionate bail has been inflicted upon the family in the form of a bond against the title deed of family property of equivalent value; it is keeping not only Ali but the whole family virtually in chains,” FCNN reported. Pray that Ali’s case will be dropped and that the testimonies of Iranian believers will draw non-believers into fellowship with Christ.
VIETNAM — House Church Attacked — Compass Direct News
On July 18, a house church in Xi Thoai village, Phu Yen Province, Vietnam, was attacked and damaged by a gang of youths, according to Compass Direct News. The building, which was under construction, was to become the home of Christian evangelist Mang Vuong and was also intended to serve the ethnic Hroi community, as the nearby church had reached full capacity. Evangelist Vuong belongs to the Evangelical Church of South Vietnam, the country’s largest government-registered denomination. The same youths had broken into Vuong’s home on June 10 and stolen a significant amount of money that had been borrowed to pay for the house, according to Compass Direct News. Household items, including furnishings and books, were also destroyed. Local Christians believe authorities came to the area not to prosecute the youth but rather to identify the Christians in the village. Pray that believers in Xi Thoai village will not lose heart but will trust the Lord in all things. Pray that God will grant wisdom to area church leaders during this time.
