Mormonism: Another Gospel

http://www.freerepublic.com

The Book of Mormon cannot be another testament of the Christ of the Bible. It may be a testament of “a” Christ, but not the Christ. It does not in any way, shape, or form contain the saving Gospel of the one true God and it is contradictory and backed up by zero evidence.

Example:
Biblical definition of grace: UNmerited favor.

“For by grace you have been saved through faith; and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God; not as a result of works, so that no one may boast.” (Eph. 2:8-9, NASB).

Mormon definition of grace: merited favor (contradicts Biblical definition and reverts back to the Old Covenant).

“For we know that it is by grace that we are saved, after all we can do.”  (2 Nephi 25:23).

Can the chasm be any clearer?
Here’s an excellent article by Matt Slick titled, “The Gospel According to Mormonism”: http://carm.org/gospel-according-to-mormonism

By the way: I am planning to write my reflection on a very interesting conversation I had with a Mormon classmate about a month ago sometime soon, God willing.  I did not get his permission to post the conversation, so I will just write my reflections on what was said.  For more on Mormonism, click the tab above titled “Mormonism.”

I am amazed that you are so quickly deserting Him who called you by the grace of Christ, for a different gospel; which is really not another; only there are some who are disturbing you and want to distort the gospel of Christ.  But even if we, or an angel from heaven, should preach to you a gospel contrary to what we have preached to you, he is to be accursed!  As we have said before, so I say again now, if any man is preaching to you a gospel contrary to what you received, he is to be accursed!

For am I now seeking the favor of men, or of God? Or am I striving to please men? If I were still trying to please men, I would not be a bond-servant of Christ.” (Galatians 1:7-11, NASB).
